We’re looking for a Corporate Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team in Manchester, supporting group reporting, consolidation and statutory reporting activity across a complex international business. This is a great opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA accountant who has strong technical accounting skills and is looking to build further experience across IFRS reporting, audit support and group consolidation. For part-qualified candidates, study support will be available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of consolidated Group financial information for monthly, half-year and annual shareholder reporting under IFRS and Dutch GAAP, including the preparation and review of accounting adjustments required to align reporting between frameworks, ensuring reporting is accurate, complete and delivered in accordance with agreed timetables
  • Support the preparation of annual IFRS statutory consolidated and standalone financial statements and related disclosures for Group entities, ensuring compliance with applicable reporting requirements
  • Assist with month-end close and Group consolidation processes, including preparation and posting of journals, consolidation adjustments, elimination entries and review of reporting submissions from divisional teams
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and the Group cash flow statement, including supporting variance and movements analysis
  • Support the year-end external audit process, including the preparation of audit deliverables, audit schedules and responses to auditor queries
  • Support the management and maintenance of Group reporting systems, chart of accounts structures and reporting hierarchies, ensuring data integrity and consistency of reporting outputs
  • Support the development and application of Group accounting policies and contribute to the consistent implementation of accounting and reporting requirements across all reporting entities
  • Prepare and maintain technical accounting papers and supporting documentation for key judgements, complex transactions and audit conclusions
  • Coordinate and support the Group's IFRS 16 reporting processes, including maintenance of the lease accounting system, review of lease data and reconciliations submitted by divisional teams and preparation of consolidated lease reporting and reconciliations
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of reporting, consolidation, control and audit processes, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, standardisation and reporting quality.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) 
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles, with the ability to apply accounting standards in a complex group reporting environment
  • Good understanding of consolidation, intercompany financial reporting and close processes within a multi-entity group structure
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise and well-supported technical accounting papers, accounting assessments and audit documentation
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Confident working with large volumes of financial data, complex legal entity structures and multiple reporting requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyse, reconcile and present financial information effectively
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across finance teams, auditors and senior stakeholders
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and reporting deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a professional, positive and solutions-oriented approach
  • Proactive and inquisitive, with a continuous improvement mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for enhancement
  • Ability to leverage technology to improve processes and outcomes.
Desirable:
  • Experience in audit, financial reporting or group reporting within a large international organisation 
  • Experience working with finance systems, consolidation tools and reporting platforms, with an understanding of chart of accounts structures and reporting hierarchies.
