Job Overview

The Spa Supervisor / Spa Trainer is responsible for overseeing daily spa operations, ensuring service excellence, and leading the training and development of the therapist team. This dual-focused role requires an organized leader who can manage floor schedules, guest relations, and quality control while designing and executing comprehensive training programs to maintain the spa's luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Spa Supervision & Operations
  • Daily Floor Management: Oversee daily opening/closing procedures, therapist scheduling, treatment room assignments, and appointment flow to ensure smooth operations.
  • Guest Relations & Service Recovery: Act as the main point of contact for guest inquiries, feedback, or complaints, resolving issues swiftly to maintain high guest satisfaction.
  • Inventory & Asset Control: Monitor stock levels of professional spa products, retail items, and linens; place orders and conduct monthly audits to minimize wastage.
  • Revenue & Retail Promotion: Drive the spa team to meet retail and treatment targets by implementing promotional strategies and monitoring daily sales performance.
2. Training & Development (Spa Trainer)
  • Onboarding & Technical Training: Train all new and existing therapists on standard operating procedures (SOPs), signature massage techniques, body treatments, and specialized therapies (e.g., head spa or facials).
  • Curriculum Development: Design, update, and maintain comprehensive spa training manuals, practical assessment checklists, and educational materials.
  • Product & Ingredients Education: Conduct regular workshops on product ingredients, benefits, and proper usage to boost therapists' knowledge and confidence in retail cross-selling.
  • Soft Skills & Etiquette Coaching: Train staff on luxury hospitality etiquette, consultation techniques, client handling, and active listening.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Performance Audits: Conduct regular, unannounced treatments and service audits to evaluate therapist skills and provide constructive feedback.
  • Hygiene & Safety Standards: Enforce strict sanitation, cleanliness, and health protocols across all treatment rooms, wet facilities, and communal areas in compliance with local regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all spa machinery (steamers, hydrotherapy units, massage beds) is regularly serviced and functioning safely.


























Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a luxury spa or wellness center, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory, team lead, or trainer capacity.
  • Licensure/Certification: A valid license or certification in Massage Therapy, Esthetics, Spa Management, or Cosmetology.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in using Spa Management Software (POS systems) and Microsoft Office.
  • Communication: Fluent in English (both written and spoken) for creating training materials and communicating with international guests. Ability to speak local languages is highly preferred.
  • Personal Attributes: High emotional intelligence, excellent grooming standards, patience in teaching, and the ability to motivate a diverse team.
