Here is What Your day May Consist of:
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you'll play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting our veterinarians, clients, and fellow team members.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and other technical nursing skills within your credentialed scope of practice
- Monitor hospitalized patients and provide compassionate nursing care
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and exotic pets (experience with exotics is a plus)
- Process laboratory samples and maintain accurate medical records
- Educate clients on medications, preventive care, prescription diets, wellness plans, and discharge instructions
- Reinforce veterinarian recommendations and promote exceptional client communication
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area, pharmacy, exam rooms, and patient wards
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to provide outstanding patient care
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the hospital and patient care

Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:
- Current Virginia Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or eligibility for licensure
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Strong technical nursing and patient care skills
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Positive, collaborative team player
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary
