Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Civil Engineer to assist with our projects in Columbus, OH! This role focuses on commercial site development while offering exposure to a wide range of public and private projects including industrial, residential, energy, and water/wastewater developments throughout the Midwest.

This role focuses on commercial site development while offering exposure to a wide range of public and private projects including industrial, residential, energy, and water/wastewater developments throughout the Midwest.
Key Responsibilities
- Support licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projects
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packages
- Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early-stage planning documents
- Perform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage design
- Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed-use developments
- Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services
- Apply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvals
- Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals
- Support projects from conceptual design through construction documentation
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
- EI certification required, with ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months
- Practical experience in site development design and plan preparation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipe networks, and plan set development
- Experience applying municipal, county, and state design standards
- Experience preparing Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports strongly preferred
- Roadway design and survey experience a plus
- Utility design or utility field inspection experience a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable coordinating with reviewing agencies, municipalities, and internal project teams
