Senior Quality Assurance & Test Engineer
Job Overview
The opportunity:
We are looking for our newest Senior Quality Assurance & Test Engineer to join our
Engineering team within the Supply Chain and Operations pace. Your focus will be on
maintaining a high bar of engineering quality, improving our testing infrastructure and
automation processes, and ultimately driving continuous improvement of the reliability of our
key e-commerce operations. This will involve working with our integration platforms
(middleware/iPaaS) and third-party software as well as a mix of automated and manual
testing strategies. As a senior member of our QA team, your opinion and ideas are valued
and you will have the opportunity to grow with us as a company and make impactful
decisions.
What you’ll be doing
● Review technical specifications and create test strategies
● Propose improvements in test systems and/ processes to improve quality or speed of
testing
● Conduct user acceptance and exploratory testing
● Develop automated functional and performance testsIdentify test gaps and improve
test plans
● Perform manual testing of new features and bug fixesIdentify and root cause issues
in distributed systems, eg microservice, event driven
● Own the end-to-end testing of various integrated proprietary and third-party services
● Propose code design changes to increase testability
● Issue triaging and stakeholder engagement
● Guide teams on testing best practices, coordinating test coverage across unit,
integration, and contract testing
● Conduct functional, regression, performance, ETL and end-to-end testing of new
application releases and change requests
● Guide engineering team in terms of test execution and review/audit the work done to
ensure completeness and quality
● Understand and negotiate with relevant stakeholders on identifying the severity and
follow up until issues found are closed
● Prepare and maintain all QA documentation such as Test Plan, Test Cases, Test
Metrics, Issues List and relevant records
● Identify potential problems that end user might encounter and make suggestion on
improvements required
● Reconciling data between key systems to ensure data consistency
The ideal toolbox
● 3-5+ years of experience in a senior software quality assurance capacity with the
ability to understand, develop and execute test strategies and plans
● Ability to self-motivate and lead the test strategy and execution
● Proficiency in Typescript a must
● Proven track record in developing automated solutions from scratch
● Expert in API (RESTful) testing frameworks and tools
● Passion for improving quality of everything, including deployment, security, stability
and performance or any other aspect of engineering
● Experience in defining performance test requirements and carrying out load and
stress tests
● Experience working in cross functional teams, providing support throughout the
software development life cycle
● Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a cross-functional team of
software developers, product managers, and designers
● Ability to identify and demonstrate your experience in optimising and quality
assurance processes
● Strong understanding of test execution in CICD, preferably YAML-based pipelines
● Familiarity with iPaaS or Middleware is desirable
