This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving tough problems, and wants to make a visible impact by driving innovation, structure, and delivery across our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate as the Product Owner within one of our three strategic product domains: Direct, Indirect, Core.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects customer needs, business priorities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, Design, and Business Teams (Compliance, Payments, Treasury, Finance) to deliver high-impact, user-centric solutions for customers and colleagues
  • Define clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals that align with domain strategy.
  • Work closely with tech leads on ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the development team, ensuring delivery of intuitive and valuable experiences.
  • Continuously assess product performance and user feedback to drive iterative improvements.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with business outcomes and regulatory standards.

Key Challenges

  • Operating within a highly regulated environment while maintaining speed and innovation.
  • Managing competing priorities across stakeholders and domains.
  • Translating complex financial concepts into simple, actionable development tasks.
  • Driving clarity and momentum in a fast-paced, evolving fintech landscape.
  • Ensuring consistency and scalability across diverse product areas.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates grit and resilience in navigating ambiguity and solving tough problems.
  • Has a strong bias to action, with a proactive approach to delivery and decision-making.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Thrives in agile environments and adapts quickly to change.
  • Passionate about fintech and building products that make a meaningful impact.
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Background:

  • 2–4 years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role, ideally within fintech or financial services.
  • Proven experience managing agile backlogs and working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with financial products, APIs, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA, PSD2).
  • Exposure to one or more fintech domains is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision-making.
  • Must have worked within agile frameworks and used tools like Jira, Notion or Confluence

Success Measures

  • Delivery of high-quality features that meet business and user needs on time.
  • A well-prioritized and maintained backlog aligned with strategic goals.
  • Positive feedback from stakeholders and development teams.
  • Measurable improvements in product KPIs (e.g., engagement, conversion, retention).
  • Compliance with regulatory standards and minimal delivery risk.

PSP & CSOP Details

At VFX, the biggest benefit is the opportunity to act like an owner. Through our Profit Share Scheme (PSP) and Company Share Option Plan (CSOP), every team member has a chance to own a stake in the business and share in the profits.

To show you what that looks like, in 2024, PSP participants received a share of over $1,000,000 USD in company profits. From those profits, more than 80% of eligible VFXers opted to become shareholders — a reflection of the belief and commitment that drives VFX forward.

If you care about building something meaningful, take pride in your work, and are motivated by impact — you’ll thrive here.

Interview Process

We aim to respond to all applications within three weeks of submission. If you are successful, you will be contacted for an initial screening call with our People Ops Partner, followed by a 1st stage Teams interview with the hiring manager, followed by an in-person final stage interview at our London office. Due to the nature of the role, there will be a take-home task to prepare for the final interview, details of which will be provided.
