David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a leading Outsourcing/BPO company that is looking to recruit a German speaking Senior Customer Service Representative for their office in Porto.

About the role.
The Senior Customer Service Representative will manage and oversee the full order-to-cash cycle, ensuring efficient processes, strong controls, and timely collections. This role plays a key part in mentoring junior team members, resolving complex disputes, and driving continuous improvements to support business growth and working capital optimization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and perform end-to-end O2C operations, including order management, billing, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.

  • Prepare and review AR aging reports, drive effective collection strategies, and actively reduce DSO.

  • Manage customer and internal stakeholder relationships, resolve escalated disputes, and negotiate payment terms.

  • Ensure compliance with audit, SOX, internal controls, accounting standards, IFRS, and tax requirements.

  • Drive process automation, standardization, and efficiency initiatives across O2C activities.

  • Support month-end and quarter-end closing, reconciliations, and reporting to senior management.

  • Train, coach, and mentor junior O2C specialists to build a high-performing team.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Logistics, Treasury, and Tax.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Native/fluent in German both verbal and written (C2 level). Fluent in English (C1 level)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • 5–7 years of experience in O2C, Accounts Receivable, or finance operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

  • Strong expertise in O2C processes, financial controls, and compliance frameworks.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Proven stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday.

  • Experience working in global environments with multi-currency transactions.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
