Production Assistant - Contact Young Company

Job Overview

Key dates:

15 Jul, 25 Jul, 1 August, 4, 5, 7 August at £100 per half day or £175 per day
5 days per week at £700pw w/c 10 August and w/c 17 August.
Contract: Fixed Term, Freelance.

MAIN TASKS

Project coordination

  • Attending sharings/ production meetings as required

Logistics & operations

  • Being a central point of communication between team members and liaising with the Contact Operations Team with key information about the production

  • Working in collaboration with the Production Manager and Programme Producer to ensure that the production is adequately supported and resourced within budget

  • Complete production tasks such as sourcing props, costume, set pieces as required

  • Supporting the creative process during the rehearsal period

  • Manage and liaise with the BSL interpreter and captioner for the production, supported by the Contact team


Pastoral / participant support

  • Act as an approachable presence for young people

  • Work with Contact’s Interim Head of Engagement and the wider team to ensure safeguarding processes are followed

  • Support access needs and wellbeing in collaboration with the wider Creative and Contact team


Admin & reporting

  • Documentation as required by the Director, Production Manager and Programme Producer, including any rehearsal notes, feedback, evaluation are documented and shared as required

  • Ensuring that registers are kept up to date and that Contact’s reporting systems are used as required and in-line with GDPR legislation

General

  • Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required in connection with the position.

  • Follow Contact’s Health & Safety policy, undertaking duties as required and ensure reasonable care is taken to maintain a healthy and safe place for public and staff.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience in producing theatrical pieces of work with experience working in community or participatory projects

  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with creative teams and with limited timescales and resources

  • Experience working with young people aged 13-30

  • Experience working with project budgets and budget management

  • Commitment to environmentally friendly processes in developing and delivering work.

  • Commitment to Contact’s mission, values and ethos.

  • Experience of safeguarding young people and/or safeguarding best practices
