Azure Cloud Solution Architect - Belfast

We are an award-winning full-stack IT consultancy, a local alternative to the Big 4, established in 1985, headquartered in Dublin with offices in Galway, Belfast, London, Poland and Germany.  Employing 240+ staff, we are growing rapidly and have crafted a clear vision of the future developing our own ‘IP’ to complement the Cloud stacks from Microsoft and Oracle. We are looking to hire an Azure Architect to join our growing company.

Codec supports Hybrid working and flexible working arrangements for staff, however, on-site working will be required where expected by customers.  This role is not suitable for a fully remote candidate based outside Ireland, the UK or potentially, Europe as regular visits to both customer sites and the Codec offices will be required as part of the role.   

Your role will be to provide IT consultancy to a range of clients. Based within our Cloud & Infrastructure Consultancy team, you will be working with Codec customers on the scoping, design and delivery of a variety of Azure solutions across several industry sectors.  You will work in a project environment where the emphasis is on delivering first-class service to our clients - The objective is to demonstrate the value of their existing and future platforms.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving aptitude.

Present strong leadership capabilities and proficiency in both verbal and written communications.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting with clients to architect a cloud-based solution based on their needs. 

• Knowledge of how the architecture is determined will need to be demonstrated.

• Compile a high/low level design document based on the outcome of the customer meetings

• Hold workshops with customers / potential customer on various topics.

• Provide escalation point to the Service desk with more difficult issues

• Assist customers with cost management

• Azure Architecture (IaaS & PaaS)

• Strong knowledge on cloud-based deployments

• Scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI)

• Templates (ARM Templates, Terraform)

• Disaster Recovery / High Availability technologies
