This role ensures that APC equipment, systems, and related deliverables are technically reviewed, properly designed, aligned with customer specifications and AAF standards, and suitable for execution, installation, operation, and maintenance.
The position will support the validation of design basis, airflow requirements, pressure drop calculations, hood and ductwork design criteria, product application, technical risk assessment, warranty analysis, troubleshooting, and technical reports related to APC systems and products.
The APC Engineer will also support project performance through technical reviews, 2D/3D design tools, fabrication work packages, BOM generation, part number coordination, and ERP-related engineering inputs.
Position Responsibilities:
• Provide technical application support for APC systems and products to the operations team, including engineering, projects, purchasing, logistics, service, and drafting teams, ensuring that technical decisions are aligned with AAF standards, customer requirements, and execution feasibility.
• Review and validate technical criteria, design basis, customer specifications, proposals, and purchase orders to identify critical requirements, deviations, risks, exclusions, applicable standards, and non-negotiable technical considerations before execution.
• Validate APC system design criteria, including airflow requirements, ductwork velocities, pressure drop calculations, hood capture requirements, equipment selection criteria, system resistance, installation conditions, and operating assumptions.
• Support the drafting and engineering teams with technical guidance for 2D/3D layouts, equipment arrangements, ductwork routing, fabrication drawings, BOMs, part numbers, work packages, and ERP-related engineering inputs.
• Prepare, review, validate, and approve technical reports related to troubleshooting, design basis review, installation assessment, operation and maintenance conditions, system performance, service findings, warranty claims, and customer complaints.
• Participate in internal and customer-facing meetings to support the resolution of technical problems, installation issues, operational concerns, warranties, complaints, or project execution risks, providing clear technical recommendations and corrective actions.
• Work with suppliers, fabricators, product engineering, service teams, and internal stakeholders to determine the best technical and commercial solution to meet customer requirements while protecting project performance, product reliability, cost, schedule, safety, and AAF’s technical position.
