About the program
The Allied Health program provides integrated, person-centred services to clients across a range of disciplines, including counselling, casework, and community support. The program aims to enhance wellbeing, promote early intervention, and reduce barriers to accessing quality health care for individuals and families in the local community.
About the role
The Social Worker will provide short-term, targeted emotional and practical support to adults, families, and children experiencing stress, adjustment challenges, or everyday difficulties. The role focuses on early intervention, stabilisation, and connection to ongoing supports, including a small caseload of clients experiencing family violence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver brief, structured support using solution-focused, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Provide emotional validation, psychoeducation, coping strategies, and short-term interventions tailored to client needs.
- Conduct safety planning and risk assessments for clients experiencing family violence in line with Victorian legislation and best practice.
- Assist clients in navigating practical challenges such as housing, Centrelink, health, and legal systems.
- Provide specialist family violence counselling and evidence-based interventions.
- Facilitate culturally sensitive referrals and service access for diverse communities.
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records and care plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and responsive care.
- Deliver flexible services across office, community, school, and telehealth settings.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development to ensure best practice.
About you
You are an experienced, compassionate, and professional Social Worker who thrives in multidisciplinary settings and is committed to improving outcomes for diverse communities.
Key selection criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct assessments, develop case plans, and provide advocacy and casework interventions.
- Strong understanding of complex client issues including family violence, mental health, and issues affecting CALD and refugee communities.
- Proven capacity to work independently and maintain professional and ethical practice.
- Knowledge of MARAM framework, relevant legislation, and family violence practice.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships and collaborate effectively with external services.
- A community language will be highly regarded
