What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced and talented Business Development Manager to join our Chemicals team based in Kumasi/Middle Belt, Ghana. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving growth and market penetration for the Animal Nutrition and CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, and Elastomers) segments. He/she should have strong technical knowledge of animal feed additives and CASE applications, combined with excellent commercial acumen, and be fluent in English.

What do we expect from the candidate?

The candidate will be part of our Chemical team and mainly work in Animal Nutrition & CASE segments, identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key accounts to achieve revenue and profitability targets, in line with Solevo’s commercial policy.

The key responsibilities:

· Client Portfolio Development
  • Visit and retain current customers.

  • Visit at least 2 prospective customers daily.

  • Recruit and develop new customers.

  • Submit weekly reports on customer visits (CRM Report).

  • Manage existing customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients.

  • Achieve sales targets and monitor performance metrics.

· Market Research & Business Development
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in Animal Nutrition and CASE markets.

  • Conduct market research to understand trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase market share and profitability.

·Business Management
  • Create quotes and contracts based on customer forecasts.

  • Ensure profitability and delivery of high-value services.

  • Follow business excellence practices.

  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.

  • Forecast revenue and contribute to annual budgeting processes.

·Technical Support
  • Provide technical guidance on product applications in animal feed and CASE formulations.

  • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to develop tailored solutions for customers

· Innovation

Propose high-value products/services to ensure segment growth and market capture.

· Competitive Intelligence

Maintain competitor SWOT and collect market intelligence.

· Cash Collection

Assist in timely collections and customer reminders.

If you possess…

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within Animal Nutrition and/or CASE industries.

  • Strong technical knowledge of feed additives, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication skills in English for effective stakeholder engagement and documentation

Nice-to-Have:

  • Technical background: Familiarity with a range of technical products and services, with the ability to quickly acquire product knowledge.

  • Knowledge of internal procedures.

  • Commercial prospecting experience.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
