Together, we break through – as Senior Bench Scientist I / II (all genders)(full-time, fixed-term)
The Senior Scientist is an accomplished neuroscientist who will make substantial contributions to the conception and execution of new therapeutic approaches for neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases in a collaborative environment. This role is a fixed term position until November 2027.
Make your mark:
- Conceive, plan, coordinate & conduct pharmacological in vivo studies in animal models for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease as well as psychiatric diseases, including histological, biochemical, and molecular biological endpoints, while establishing and validating novel animal models for these diseases.
- Practice in vivo techniques in rodents, including microsurgeries, dosing via different routes, sampling of CSF and blood, perfusions, dissection of brain regions and related tasks.
- Set up, optimize and validate histological, protein biochemistry and molecular biology assays, e.g. ligand binding assays, quantitative PCR (qPCR). Experience with mass spectrometry would be advantageous.
- Highly autonomous and productive in performing research or method development to address key scientific questions.
- Independently interpret scientific data and initiate next steps as well as provide mentorship and guidance to others.
- Present scientific plans and data internally to project teams and scientific communities.
- Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity that advances research projects or technologies and lead those efforts.
- Develop and maintain productive collaborations with other groups across science disciplines and global colleagues including planning and coordination of complex experiments.
