Job Overview

Technical expert that will independently investigate, identify, develop and optimize new methods/ techniques to address critical project needs. Continuously seek to improve existing laboratory methods and processes. Read and adapt literature to accomplish assignments. Demonstrate mastery of broad range of experimental techniques and methods of data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
    Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond.
  • Learn, understand and master new experimental techniques, and act as a resource or mentor for others.
  • Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.
  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the field.
  • Set and meet experimental timelines.
  • Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.
  • Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents.
  • Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature. Impact projects mostly through lab and/or pilot plant based activities where applicable.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of laboratory equipment. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all instrumentation remains operational (e.g., managing repairs, calibrations, and routine servicing).
  • Operate HPLC and Capillary Electrophoresis (CE) instrumentation. Troubleshoot equipment issues and execute analytical runs to deliver data within aggressive project timelines.
  • Manage critical administrative workflows outside the laboratory, including coordinating sample shipping and external testing, requesting manufacturing samples, and authoring and/or verifying technical documentation.
  • Perform AKTA-based purifications to support new technology evaluations, regulatory filing studies, root-cause investigations, and inform manufacturing operations.
  • Execute lab-scale filtrations, including depth filtration and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), to support specific project milestones, new technology evaluations, and manufacturing needs.
  • Conduct daily physical and analytical testing (turbidity, protein concentration via SoloVPE and UV/gravimetric methods, pH, conductivity, density, and osmolarity). Prepare buffers according to manufacturing records and ensure meticulous documentation and verification of all execution records.
