Deposition Transcript Attorney (CA Licensed - Remote)
Full-time Entry LevelJob Overview
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Depo Transcript Attorney to join our Workers' Compensation practice. This attorney will focus exclusively on the review of deposition transcripts in partnership with clients following each deposition β this role does not take or defend depositions. Instead, the attorney reviews the completed transcript and case file, discusses findings and next steps directly with the client, updates the file with any new information developed, and then moves on to the next deposition in the queue.
This is a high-volume, single-focus role ideal for an attorney who thrives on consistent process, clear client communication, and accurate timekeeping.
Key Responsibilities
Transcript & File Review
- Review deposition transcripts in detail upon completion of each deposition, identifying key testimony, discrepancies, and issues relevant to the case.
- Cross-reference transcript content against the existing case file, medical records, and prior discovery to ensure the file reflects the most current and accurate information.
- Update the case file promptly with any new facts, admissions, or developments uncovered during the deposition.
Client Discussion & Communication
- Conduct post-deposition discussions with clients to walk through the transcript, explain its significance, and answer questions.
- Communicate next steps and any impact on case strategy or value in clear, accessible terms.
- Serve as a consistent, reliable point of contact for clients during the post-deposition phase of their case.
Caseload & Time Management
- Move efficiently from one completed deposition to the next, maintaining a steady, high-volume review queue.
- Accurately track and enter billable time for all file review and client discussion activity in accordance with firm billing practices.
- Flag any cases requiring escalation to the assigned trial attorney or additional legal team members.
