Banning Lewis Preparatory Academy is seeking a highly-qualified Building Assistant in Colorado Springs, CO.

About the Opportunity:
- Assist Director of Facilities in running the daily operations of the building
- Sub at the Elementary building as needed.
- Work in/coordinate lunchroom activities
- Receive shipments and facilitate distribution
- Assist staff with event setup and tear down
- Snow removal/cleanup as needed at building access points
- Perform minor repairs as needed
- Report supply needs to Facilities Director
- Report needed repair requests to Facilities Director
- Perform light custodial duties as needed
- Re-supply paper products as needed throughout the day
- Perform cleanups as needed
- Cleanup trash outside as needed
- Must be able to stand, climb ladders and perform general duties all over campus
- Typical day will involve several miles of walking
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds
- Position includes building relationships with students and staff
- Assist with safety drills as needed
- The position is 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday
About You:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks
- Ability to perform physical work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to use outdoor and indoor cleaning equipment
- Ability to report to work outside of school opening hours
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in reporting to work as scheduled
- Knowledge of cleaning up and disposal of hazardous and bio-hazardous materials
- Basic knowledge of and ability to perform simple electrical and plumbing repairs
- Experience in an urban setting is a plus

Compensation and Benefits

This position is paid at an hourly rate of $23.00 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
We offer the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, 10 paid holidays annually. All eligible employees will participate in Colorado’s Family & Medical Leave Insurance Program, in accordance with state law.
Paid Time Off: The amount of Paid Time Off (PTO) employees accrue is determined by both their position and the length of their employment term. Employees could accrue up to 10 days of paid time off for 10-month roles, 11 days of paid time off for 11-month roles and 15 days of paid time off for 12-month roles.
We offer several plans to choose from, with a wide range of deductibles and co- insurance levels. We offer plans with set co-pays for certain medical services, as well as a high deductible plan with set co-insurance levels after deductibles have been met. All plans offer both in-network and out-of-network coverage. We also offer flexible spending and health savings accounts.
