High-Level Description
The Architecture Chapter Lead is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and governing the Architecture practice within the company. The role operates in two major dimensions:
People & Capability Leadership – Building, mentoring, and evolving the community of Architects through structured career paths, competency development, and alignment with current and emerging technology trends.
Business & Delivery Impact – Driving architectural excellence across presales and delivery, contributing to business growth, ensuring high-quality solution design, and positioning Architects as trusted senior advisors to clients.
This role ensures the Architecture function delivers measurable value internally and externally, while remaining aligned with market evolution and company strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture Community & People Leadership
Line management of Architects (performance management, coaching, career development).
Define and maintain competency frameworks and career paths.
Identify skill gaps and drive structured upskilling initiatives.
Build a strong Architecture community culture (knowledge sharing, standards, mentoring).
Workforce planning and capacity management aligned with business demand.
Drive recruitment strategy for Architects in collaboration with HR.
2. Practice & Governance
Define and evolve architectural standards, principles, and best practices.
Ensure consistency of solution design approaches across projects.
Establish review mechanisms for solution quality and risk management.
Promote modern architectural paradigms (cloud-native, microservices, data-driven, AI-enabled systems, DevOps, security by design, etc.).
3. Business & Presales Contribution
Contribute to presales activities (solution shaping, estimations, client presentations).
Lead or support architectural PoCs and discovery phases.
Support bid strategy and large deal structuring from an architectural perspective.
Position Architects as senior consultants in customer engagements.
Strengthen strategic relationships with key clients from a technical leadership standpoint.
4. Financial & Strategic Oversight
Understand and manage P&L impact related to the Architecture practice.
Contribute to forecasting (capacity planning, revenue potential, cost structure).
Optimize architect allocation to maximize utilization and margin.
Support pricing strategies with realistic architectural estimations.
Align architecture strategy with company growth objectives.
