Scope of the Role:
The Video Editor will be responsible for creating high-quality video content across short-form, long-form, branded, and social formats. The role involves assembling raw footage into impactful narratives, tailoring edits for multiple platforms, and collaborating with creative leads to ensure each piece meets brand, storytelling, and performance standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Edit high-quality short-form and long-form video content for social media, YouTube, podcasts, websites, and branded campaigns.
- Assemble raw footage into polished, compelling narratives aligned with the creative vision.
- Add music, sound effects, colour correction, motion graphics, and text overlays as needed.
- Adapt and repurpose long-form content into platform-optimised short-form assets.
- Collaborate with creative directors and producers to refine structure, tone, and flow.
- Maintain consistency in brand identity, style, and storytelling execution across all deliverables.
- Optimise edits for retention, engagement, and platform-specific best practices.
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
- Stay updated on editing trends, social platform algorithms, and digital storytelling techniques.
Requirements
Years of Experience
- 3+ years as a Video Editor within a digital media, social-first, or content production environment.
Background
- Experience editing narrative-driven content, branded videos, testimonials, interviews, or podcast-based clips.
- Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, structure, and visual rhythm.
- Understanding of social media trends and performance-driven creative strategies.
- Ability to work independently, follow creative direction, and iterate based on feedback.
Tools and Software
- Adobe Premiere Pro (required)
- After Effects (preferred)
- Additional editing, audio, or motion graphics tools are a plus.
