Background
Strongim Bisnis is an innovative pro-business program funded by the Australian Government.
Strongim Bisnis supports Solomon Islands businesses to increase productivity, access greater income earning opportunities and higher value markets; with the intention of enabling greater resilience and creating jobs. Poverty reduction will be the desired result. Strongim Bisnis also supports the private sector and the Solomon Islands Government to work together effectively to increase opportunities for trade and investment and accelerate business growth. A key focus of the program ensures that Solomon Islands women, youth and people with disability have increased economic opportunities.
In its third phase of implementation, Strongim Bisnis works with over 40 private sector businesses, civil society organisations and government departments across the country. The program is delivered by a team of 30 personnel, led by a diverse senior management team.
Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the MRM Manager, the MRM Coordinator supports the achievement of the MRM team Annual workplans, as well as ensures that program monitoring and measurement activities adhere to processes and practices described in the Strongim Bisnis MRM Manual. The MRM Coordinator will also work alongside the MRM Field Researcher to lead research scoping and impact assessment activities. This will range from the initial design of studies, to conducting analysis and final writeup of reports. The MRM Coordinator will also provide support to the MRM Manager during the periodic aggregation of results for program performance reporting to key stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead MRM research and assessment activities, including beneficiary scoping and baseline studies, to early and final impact assessment. These research activities will involve significant domestic travel to outer provincial areas where logistics and communications can be challenging at times. Where applicable, they will also be responsible for managing other Strongim Bisnis staff members- as well as any external enumerators- who may be engaged in those research and assessment activities.
Support the MRM Manager in external reviews and/or verifications of MRM systems and results reported. This includes ensuring that the MRM system and results capture practices adheres to both the DFAT monitoring and evaluation guidelines as well as the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) standards for measuring achievements in private sector development.
Will work in collaboration with the Strongim Bisnis Communications team to support their collection of content, and assist in their development of case studies and partner highlights for the purposes of external stakeholder and public communications.
Will work in collaboration with the MRM Manager to train Strongim Bisnis staff and Partners where appropriate, in MRM systems and data collection requirements.
Supports the MRM Manager in facilitating internal reflection meetings amongst Strongim Bisnis staff to review Program results and discuss lessons learned from monitoring and results measurement activities.
When the MRM Manager is not in-country or available, the MRM Coordinator will report directly to the Strongim Bisnis Team Leader, and may be required to represent the MRM team in internal and external stakeholder meetings and events.
