Inspector - Mechanical
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector Mechanical for our STP Projects in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical or mechanical systems in Sewage Treatment Plant projects.
The Mechanical Inspector will support the construction supervision team on Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) projects under Dubai Municipality by ensuring that all electrical and mechanical works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable authority standards. The role involves on-site inspection, quality control, and technical coordination with contractors and the supervision team.
Job Duties:
- Conduct daily inspections of electrical and mechanical works related to STP infrastructure such as pumps, blowers, valves, piping, HVAC, control panels, cabling, and instrumentation.
- Ensure contractor’s adherence to approved shop drawings, method statements, DEWA/DM specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
- Monitor installation, alignment, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (e.g., pipe networks, pumps, mechanical fittings) and electrical systems (e.g., LV/MV panels, SCADA, cable trays, grounding).
- Verify contractor compliance with authority standards including DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and project-specific quality and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to address site challenges and implement corrective measures.
- Track progress of MEP works, report deviations, and raise site observations/non-conformance reports when required.
- Document and report daily inspections, material deliveries, test results, and site activities.
- Support the supervision team during equipment start-up, testing, and final handover, including witnessing of FAT/SAT and commissioning tests.
- Review and verify as-built drawings and installation records submitted by the contractor.
- Liaise with client representatives during inspections and provide technical clarification as needed.
- Monitor adherence to approved health and safety procedures during execution of MEP works.
- Provide input on RFIs, technical submittals, and inspection requests related to electrical and mechanical works.
