AECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer within the Building and Places business line to be based in Dallas or Houston, TX.
The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

Job Summary/Responsibilities
Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy.
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phase.
Works cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's mission.
Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical discipline.
Support on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects.
Prepare design drawings and documents, technical specifications, calculations, and studies associated with electrical facility designs.
Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes.
Produces plans, specifications, reports, and other project related deliverables for projects.
Prepare one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, selection of equipment.
Coordinates design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
Exercise judgment on details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings independently for review by senior staff.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Perform engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
Maintains accurate project documentation and design data for permanent project files.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Utilizes software to perform lighting calculations.
Analyzes problems, writes reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findings.
Perform site investigations and walk-downs of project sites.
Mentors/trains junior staff members.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering and 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience with electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes, utilizing electrical design software.
Preferred Qualifications
PE license or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hiring date.
Proficiency with utilizing Revit to produce project deliverables.
Strong communication skills: Articulate, assertive, and confident.
Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills.
Desire to be mentored by leadership.
Experience with sustainable design.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.
Experience in Electrical Power Calculation Software.
Experienced in application of National Electrical Code.
Ability to switch between work on multiple/different projects daily.
Working knowledge of NFPA, ISA, IEEE Regulatory Codes.
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.
Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.
Able to travel as needed to client office locations and project locations for site visits and design & inspection projects.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. The range for this position is $115,000 - $165,000.
