Mid-level Archaeology Technician

AECOM is seeking a Mid-level Archaeology Technician (Archaeology Technician III) for immediate employment.  This remote opportunity will report to our Cultural Resources team in Portland. 

*This is a part-time, on-call position meaning workdays and times will be determined on an as-needed project basis.

Archaeological Technician’s primarily performs fieldwork under the supervision of a Crew Chief, Field Director and/or Principal Investigator. Field projects will primarily be in Oregon and Washington State, and candidates should be in the Portland, OR and/or Vancouver, WA area. Candidates will need flexibility to travel overnight for field work sessions. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct all aspects of archaeological field work, including survey, site recordation, site testing, monitoring, and data recovery. Must be familiar with standard archaeological techniques for all phases of archaeological investigations.
• Assist with documentation and mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data.
• Assist with technical research and writing for reporting efforts.
• Analyze and document prehistoric and historic sites and artifacts.
• Works with the technical field, lab and office staff, managers and administrative staff to ensure that projects meet AECOM quality standards.
