Job Overview
- Monitor construction of structural elements including bridges, underpasses, culverts, retaining walls, foundations, and deep foundation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and design criteria. Verify reinforcement placement, formwork, post-tensioning operations, grouting, and concrete sequencing.
- Review and inspect temporary works design for falsework, scaffolding, and shoring systems to ensure adequate strength and stability. Oversee installation and alignment of expansion joints, bearings, drainage systems, and safety barriers on bridge decks.
- Ensure structural works comply with Dubai Municipality, RTA, DEWA, and relevant authority standards. Analyse applicable codes and contract documents, and coordinate with designers and authorities to resolve design discrepancies and site queries.
- Supervise and direct the inspection team, conducting weekly meetings with inspectors and the Project Engineer. Audit inspections for conformity to contract documents and contractor-submitted plans.
- Maintain comprehensive records including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting, change orders, and record drawings. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for violations and prepare reports as directed by the Project Lead.
- Attend progress review and coordination meetings to assist in resolving site issues. Participate in snagging and project handover activities, providing expert knowledge to ensure smooth project execution and compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
