Job Overview
- Perform survey work under the direction of the Senior Highway Surveyor, establishing primary horizontal and vertical control points with accurate field measurements and calculations.
- Conduct pre-construction surveys to verify site conditions and support construction layout, staking, and setting out for roads, pavements, curbs, drainage, and utilities.
- Monitor and verify contractor work alignment, levels, and grading against design drawings, coordinating with the contractor's surveyor and Resident Engineer on discrepancies.
- Check all survey work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
- Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition, perform calibration checks, and utilize modern GPS, total stations, and computer software for measurements.
- Prepare as-built drawings and maintain comprehensive documentation of survey records, reports, and maps for project reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures during all survey operations and maintain accurate field books throughout the project.
