Job Overview

AECOM is currently seeking a Ports Digital Infrastructure Lead to support the Latin American region.

The Ports Digital Infrastructure Lead focuses on strategic business development, possessing a solid track record in the design, deployment, and operation of critical infrastructure (ports, airports, and logistics hubs). The ideal candidate must combine an advanced technical vision in operational safety and cybersecurity (IT/OT)—enabling the movement or inspection of goods for dispatch—with the ability to identify new market opportunities, translating complex client needs and industry technology trends into compelling commercial proposals, robust protection architectures, and technical procurement specifications.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Business Development

  • Lead the identification, maturation, and capture of new business opportunities in the critical infrastructure sector (ports, airports, and logistics hubs) in Latin America, translating complex client needs into technical cybersecurity and physical security (IT/OT) proposals.
  • Act as AECOM's technical point of contact in the region for cargo transport security solutions, building long-term relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and technology partners within the logistics ecosystem.

IT (Information Technology)

Traditional IT systems:

  • Corporate networks (LAN/WAN)
  • Servers and databases
  • Enterprise systems (ERP, email, cloud)
  • Information management
  • Define comprehensive security architectures for complex environments (IT/OT).

OT (Operational Technology)

Systems that control physical processes and infrastructure:

  • Industrial systems (SCADA, PLC)
  • Automation of ports, airports, trains
  • Traffic control systems, cranes, conveyor belts, power systems
  • Physical security systems (CCTV, access control, etc.)

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish and validate technical criteria, specifications, and standards for security projects.
  • Prepare technical documents and specifications for procurement processes.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of security-related information systems.
  • Manage and analyze logs in high-volume, highly complex environments.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and project stakeholders.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and their applicability to security projects.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and best practices.
  • Design, develop, and implement physical security and cybersecurity solutions for critical infrastructure.
