AECOM's Surface Transportation Team in Ireland—a 150+ strong professional network operating across Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Belfast – is thriving due to significant growth fuelled by a robust pipeline of major Roads, Public Transport and Greenway programmes.
We are seeking a driven and experienced Civil Engineer to join our 150+ strong transportation team in Ireland.
We welcome applications from those with industry experience and the ambition to progress from their current role to become a Chartered Engineer in future that will lead our projects for our clients.

Roads: Major road schemes including the N25 Midleton to Youghal Transport Project (Co. Cork). N17 Milltown (Co. Galway), A24 Ballynahinch Bypass (Co. Down), N54 Tullybryan Realignment (Co. Public Transport: Delivery teams for the TII Luas Programme, the NTA BusConnects Programmes, and multiple major rail projects.
Greenways:, A vast programme of Greenways (>300km) in the Republic of Ireland for TII and Local Authorities, including major greenway schemes like Barnesmore Gap Greenway in County Donegal, the West Cork Greenways – Skibbereen Sections, the Portlaoise to Attanagh Greenway, and the Galway-Oughterard Greenway.

Mentorship and coaching from our existing Chartered Engineers, Supervising Civil Engineers and professional reviewers
Formal technical, project management, and personal skills training through AECOM University.

Your Role & Responsibilities
You will:
Manage design packages on a diverse range of projects from concept to construction stage, including:
Major highway projects (to DMRB UK & Ireland Standards).
Bus infrastructure projects (to LTN 1/24, NTA standards)
Greenway/active travel projects (to Cycling by Design/TII DMRB).
Know and apply UK and/or Irish design standards including (the UK & Irish DMRB, Cycle by Design, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual) to create safe, people-focused transport solutions.
Deliver high quality deliverables and service to our clients, meeting our quality standards and their expectations within time and budget constraints.
Work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team, seamlessly collaborating with technicians, engineers and specialists in other disciplines (e.g., drainage, structures, environmental).
Work directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, guiding them through technical challenges and relevant statutory approval processes (Northern Ireland Roads Order, Republic of Ireland Planning Permission, Environmental Impact Assessment).
Develop our team, through mentoring of apprentices, contributing to AECOM’s culture of growth and continuous learning.
