Job Overview

The Solar & Battery Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising and ensuring correct installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This role ensures all electrical works are executed in compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and Philippine electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Installation Supervision

  • Supervise installation of DC and AC cabling, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and battery systems.

  • Ensure electrical works follow approved drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Coordinate daily electrical activities with civil and mechanical teams.

Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform and witness insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, grounding tests, and functional checks.

  • Support inverter, transformer, protection relay, and battery system commissioning.

  • Assist in grid synchronization and utility interconnection activities.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control

  • Review and implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Conduct site inspections and raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) when required.

  • Ensure proper documentation of test results and as-built drawings.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow site HSE rules and ensure safe electrical work practices.

  • Conduct toolbox talks related to electrical safety and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for electrical scope.

  • Report daily progress and technical issues to the Site Manager and Project Engineer.

  • Support material planning and tracking of electrical equipment deliveries.
