The Solar & Battery Site Civil Engineer is responsible for supervising and ensuring correct execution of all civil and structural works for solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This includes earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, fencing, and structural supports for solar arrays and battery containers. The role ensures works are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with approved drawings, quality standards, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Civil Construction Supervision
Supervise site earthworks, land grading, and compaction activities.
Oversee construction of foundations for solar mounting structures, inverters, transformers, and battery containers.
Ensure installation of site drainage, access roads, fencing, and auxiliary buildings.
Verify that civil works follow approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Implement Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for civil works.
Conduct site inspections and raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) when required.
Monitor concrete works, rebar installation, and structural assembly quality.
Ensure proper documentation of test results and as-built drawings.
Health, Safety & Environment
Enforce safe work practices on-site and compliance with HSE requirements.
Monitor environmental controls related to excavation, erosion, and waste disposal.
Coordination & Planning
Coordinate daily activities with electrical and mechanical teams.
Supervise civil subcontractors and ensure productivity targets are met.
Track material deliveries and site resource allocation.
Reporting
Prepare daily progress reports and highlight site risks or delays.
Support project handover by completing civil completion dossiers.
