Experienced Painter

Job Description 

We are seeking a highly skilled Experienced Aviation Painter to join our Calgary-based maintenance and refinishing team. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with aircraft surface preparation, priming, painting, detailing, and quality inspection. You will play a key role in ensuring aircraft are delivered with exceptional finish quality, safety standards, and brand consistency. 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform surface preparation, including sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning of aircraft surfaces.
• Apply high‑quality paint finishes using HVLP spray systems, following OEM and regulatory specifications.
• Mix and apply primers, topcoats, clear coats, and specialty coatings according to technical data sheets.
• Conduct post‑paint inspections, touch-ups, and finish corrections to meet aviation quality standards.
• Maintain paint booth equipment, tools, and work areas to ensure safety and compliance.
• Follow all Transport Canada, company, and environmental regulations related to chemical handling and aviation painting processes.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance engineers, technicians, and production teams to ensure on-time aircraft delivery.

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of aviation painting experience (commercial, corporate, or rotary wing).
• Strong knowledge of aviation-grade paints, coatings, and application procedures.
• Proficiency with HVLP spray guns, sanding tools, and paint‑prep equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, repair manuals, and manufacturer specifications.

Additional requirements: 

• Legally entitled to work in Canada
• Have the ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC

Working conditions and physical effort 

• Work performed in aircraft hangars, paint booths, and occasionally outdoors depending on project requirements.
• Frequent exposure to paint fumes, solvents, chemicals, and airborne particulates—full PPE provided and required.
• Standing, bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
• Repetitive use of sanding and paint prep tools.
• Temperature variations may occur when working near hangar doors or on aircraft exteriors.
• Strict adherence to safety, ventilation, and environmental control procedures is required.
