Job Overview

Kia ora!

Are you calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, operational environment? We’re looking for a Crew Controller to join our Auckland-based team and help keep our people and planes where they need to be—so we can continue delivering an exceptional experience for customers across our jet network.

At Air New Zealand, we connect friends and whānau across Aotearoa and the world. As part of our whānau, you’ll thrive in a dynamic environment, focused on doing the basics brilliantly to ensure every journey takes off as planned. This permanent role follows a 6 days on, 3 days off roster and is based at our Auckland Airport Campus.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Crew Controller, you’ll be part of the team responsible for short-term crewing operations, ensuring every flight is safely and compliantly crewed. You’ll help coordinate flight crew resources across our jet network, balancing customer commitments, operational constraints and regulatory obligations.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and manage daily operational crewing plans
  • Provide fast, effective crewing solutions during disruptions
  • Ensure crew assignments comply with contractual and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with internal teams to resolve resourcing challenges
  • Support network performance by maintaining efficient crew schedules

This role will suit you if you have:

  • Experience in rostering, planning or operations
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach to complex problems
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • An understanding of airport or airline operations (advantageous)

You’ll be someone who thrives in a team environment, enjoys working to time-critical deadlines, and brings a can-do attitude to every shift.

What we can offer you:

We want our people to live their best lives and access great benefits that support their lives outside work. In this role, you’ll enjoy:

  • Discounted flights for you and your whānau to explore Aotearoa and the world
  • Access to health and wellbeing tools, including KoruHealth and EAP
  • FlexiLeave lets you purchase up to 4 extra weeks off each year
  • A workplace savings scheme with matching employer contributions
  • Development opportunities in one of New Zealand’s most iconic organisations

Ready for take-off?

If you're ready to step into a role at the heart of our daily operations and play a key part in keeping our network moving, we’d love to hear from you.
