We are seeking a Summer Intern for our instrument development team who is passionate about developing systems for new biomarker detection. As a System Engineering Intern, you will play a critical role in testing and improving our proteomics instrument platform. This role demands hands-on expertise, creative problem-solving, and a passion for advancing biotech instrumentation in a fast-paced startup environment. The successful candidate will hone data analysis skills, gain experience in system testing, and develop intuitions in engineering designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply the trained knowledge and skillsets to evaluate protocols and designs.
- Design and execute tests for QC procedure and newly designed parts.
- Perform data analysis to gain insights from the test results.
- Propose modifications to hardware and hardware test.
- Present the results to the greater engineering team.
- Work with other engineers to implement the modifications needed.
- Evaluate post-modification results for effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM fields
- Familiarity with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- Experience in designing data acquisition experiments
- Ability to work across functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, and the determination to get through challenging problems
The base salary range for this full-time position is $25/hour - $35/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The ranges displayed on each job posting reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries but are subject to change if the leveling of the role is adjusted.
