Job Overview

JOB PURPOSE

Driving the implementation of digital initiatives across BIM, GIS, Smart Cities & Homes, and Digital Construction. Working closely with internal departments and external consultants, the AVP ensures digital engineering initiatives are aligned with Aldar’s broader development and operational goals. The role contributes to shaping digital standards and roadmaps while ensuring projects are executed efficiently, at scale, and with the highest level of technical quality.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the execution of digital engineering programs across active developments.
• Manage timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure quality and alignment with program objectives.
• Participate in digital roadmap planning, evaluations of new technologies, and rollout of scalable workflows.
• Own project documentation and technical reviews and the implementation of smart cities systems such as PSIM, Building Twins, IoT Platforms, and related technologies.
• Coordinate with internal teams across Development, Design, Construction, and Operations to ensure alignment and integration of digital initiatives.
• Manage external consultants to ensure deliverables meet technical standards and project requirements.
• Review and approve BIM, GIS, and smart systems outputs for compliance with Aldar’s digital standards.
• Facilitate onboarding, briefings, and handovers for delivery partners and internal team members.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of digital engineering frameworks, including Smart Cities Blueprints, EIRs, BEPs, and data models.
• Identify and manage delivery risks and drive continuous improvement across digital workstreams.
• Ensure effective use of BIM and GIS authoring tools, model checkers, CDEs, and reality capture platforms.
• Validate outputs from scan-to-BIM, GIS mapping, and smart system implementations for technical quality and accuracy.
• Maintain oversight of the integration of digital engineering deliverables with platforms like the Aldar Digital Twin and LiveAldar app.

RELATED YEAR OF EXPERIENCE
Min of 8+ Years of progressive experience in digital engineering, including project delivery, coordination, and technology implementation.

FIELD OF EXPERIENCE
Experience in real estate development, smart infrastructure, or construction sectors, with hands-on exposure to smart systems implementation, BIM, GIS, and reality capture.

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to translate strategy into execution.
• Clear communication and documentation skills across technical and executive audiences.
• Experience with Smart Cities and Home Automation is recommended.
• Technical proficiency in BIM (Revit, Navisworks), GIS (ArcGIS), scan-to-BIM platforms, digital tools such as CDEs, and model checkers is a preferred.
• Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments and consultant teams.

QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• MSc degree, Certifications in BIM, GIS, or Smart City technologies are a plus.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650, digital twin frameworks, and real estate lifecycle systems preferred.
