Description: 

  • We are looking for a Design Engineer with a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering and strong experience in automotive product development.
  • The candidate must have either a Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience. 
  • The role involves designing automotive electrical components from initial concept through mass production, including vision systems, radar systems, safety sensors, control units and related mounting brackets.
  • The engineer will be responsible for full product development activities including feasibility studies, cost analysis, strength calculations, part construction, and specification definition. 
  • The position requires strong expertise in Catia V5 & V6 (including VPM Navi), advanced surfacing, meshing, FEA, sheet metal design, CAE, draft analysis and digital mockup (SPA).
  • Solid manufacturing knowledge in sheet metal processes (forming, stamping, welding), injection molding and process control is required. 
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong engineering capabilities in tolerance stack-up and part optimization (function, cost and weight), as well as advanced project management skills and proven leadership abilities to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously. 

Job Description Details: 

  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings of automotive electrical components from concept phase through mass production 
  • Perform design feasibility studies and cost analysis 
  • Conduct strength calculations and structural validation 
  • Define part construction and technical specifications 
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis 
  • Ensure part optimization in terms of function, cost and weight 
  • Lead and coordinate prototyping, fabrication and manufacturing activities 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, program management) 
  • Support digital mockup activities and design reviews 
  • Ensure compliance with customer drawing standards (Client experience preferred) 
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting technical objectives and deadlines 
  • Provide technical leadership within assigned projects 

Profile:

  • Design Engineer – Automotive Electrical Systems 
  • Senior level (5–8+ years experience depending on degree) 
  • Strong technical design and validation background 
  • Hands-on and analytical mindset 
  • Solid manufacturing understanding 
  • Strong leadership and project coordination skills 
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced automotive development environment 
  • Results-oriented (Quality / Cost / Timing focus) 
  • Strong communication skills 

Must Have:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering 
  • 5+ years (MS) or 8+ years (BS) relevant experience 
  • Strong Catia V5 & V6 expertise 
  • Experience designing automotive electrical components 
  • Experience with tolerance stack-up 
  • Knowledge of sheet metal and injection molding processes 
  • Experience with FEA and digital mockup 
  • Project management capability 
  • Leadership skills 

Good to Have: 

  • Client drawing experience 
  • Advanced surfacing expertise 
  • Experience with vision systems, radar or safety sensors 
  • Strong CAE / meshing background 
  • Experience working in high-volume mass production environment
