What You’ll Do
As the Lead Diesel Mechanic, you will play a key role in maintaining our fleet and supporting daily shop operations.
Shop Leadership
- Assist with coordinating daily shop workflow
- Support and guide mechanics on diagnostics and repairs
- Promote and enforce safe shop practices
- Conduct safety talks and maintain strong shop communication
- Help maintain an organized and efficient shop environment
Fleet Maintenance
- Diagnose and repair Class 8 tractors and tanker trailers
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections
- Assist with complex mechanical, electrical, and air system repairs
- Ensure equipment meets DOT and company safety standards
- Maintain accurate repair documentation
Equipment Management
- Perform yard checks to verify equipment readiness
- Assist in scheduling preventative maintenance services
- Work with parts vendors to ensure timely repairs
- Help keep tools and equipment in safe working condition
Requirements
Required
- 3+ years of experience working on Class 8 trucks or heavy diesel equipment
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills
- Basic tools required for diesel repair work
- Ability to assist and guide other technicians
- Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship
Preferred
- Experience working in a trucking or tanker fleet maintenance shop
- Leadership or lead mechanic experience
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs
- CDL is a plus
