About Us

Amidon Heavy Industries is a venture-backed startup transforming subsea inspection and monitoring. We build autonomous surface vessels (USVs) that autonomously launch and recover remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to perform high-frequency inspections of subsea pipelines, telecom cables, and offshore infrastructure. Our system operates at a fraction of the cost of traditional crewed vessels, unlocking scalable, real-time subsea awareness for the first time.

The Role

We are hiring a Director, Telecoms to lead our commercial efforts in the subsea cable market. The ideal candidate has experience in marine services or subsea infrastructure and has sold services into the telecom or subsea cable industry. You understand how these customers think about risk, uptime, and asset protection, and you can translate our capabilities into a clear value proposition that resonates with them. You will use your background and network to build trust, close contracts, and help us scale across the global subsea telecom market.

  • Own revenue growth in the telecom vertical from strategy to signed contracts

  • Develop and manage relationships with telecom operators, subsea cable consortia, hyperscalers, and infrastructure providers

  • Position Amidon Heavy Industries as the trusted partner for cable inspection and monitoring, emphasizing uptime and risk reduction

  • Shape the go-to-market strategy for telecoms, including pricing, contracting models, and account expansion

  • Pursue and close inspection contracts that create recurring, long-term business

  • Provide customer and market feedback to influence product roadmap and deployment strategy

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in marine services, subsea infrastructure, or telecom with direct sales or business development responsibility

  • Familiarity with subsea cable integrity management and inspection regimes

  • Strong track record selling services into telecom, subsea cable, or adjacent infrastructure markets

  • Understanding of subsea cable operations, inspection cycles, and procurement processes

  • Established network within telecom operators, subsea infrastructure owners, and hyperscalers

  • Ability to communicate complex technical offerings in terms of business value

  • Comfortable working in a startup environment with high autonomy and fast decision cycles

Bonus Points

  • Experience introducing new technology or service models into telecom or subsea markets

  • Prior leadership role in business development or account management

  • Global experience across multiple cable landing regions such as the US East Coast, Europe, Asia-Pacific, or the Caribbean
