Virtual CFO Tax Manager
Job Overview
The Virtual CFO Department of one of the fastest-growing accounting firms in the country is seeking a Tax Manager who is motivated to learn, excited to collaborate and passionate about delivering outstanding results. The VCFO Tax Manager will oversee the accurate and timely filing of Federal, State, and Local tax returns, coordinate tax planning and projections with corporate and partnership clients, and clearly articulate tax planning and preparation results to clients. This role involves managing governmental responses to notices, identifying tax savings opportunities, and coordinating with third-party credit providers. Additionally, the Tax Manager will manage all aspects of CFO client tax work within the assigned Pod, including technical reviews, tax planning opportunities, and coordinating meetings with clients and the Tax Director. The candidate will also be responsible for managing support staff in the preparation of tax returns and ensuring timely communication and completion of tax-related tasks.
What You’ll Do:
Industry Tax Manager:
- Manage accurate and timely filing of Federal, State, and Local tax returns
- Coordinate the tax planning and projections with corporate and partnership clients
- Articulate clearly the results of tax planning and tax preparation to clients in a timely manner
- Manage and communicate governmental responses to notices received by assigned clients
- Identify tax savings opportunities through internally crafted strategies and coordinate with third-party credit providers (if necessary)
- Communicate tax process to client management and ownership
VCFO Team Tax Manager:
- Manage all aspects of CFO client tax work within assigned Pod by adhering to due dates of assigned activities in SmartSheet.
- Client Work includes:
- Report to the Tax Director at weekly Tax L-10 meetings
- Estimated Tax Season hours - 55 / week
- Managing Entigrity staff person in the preparation of assigned CFO Corporate and Partnership returns
- Managing Entigrity staff person in the preparation of assigned CFO shareholder and partner returns
- Complete Technical Review of all CFO Client tax returns and meet with Tax Director on analytical review
- Complete Technical Review of stand-alone returns as assigned.
- Attend weekly Pod meetings to determine if any additional tax research or tax meetings need to be set up with the client.
- Identify tax planning opportunities in conjunction with CFO and Tax Director
- Coordinate third-party tax relationships
- Work with accountants in the Pod to timely complete:
- Estimated Tax Payments
- Preparation of Tax Planners
- Coordinating meetings with CFO / Client / Tax Director to ensure timely communication
- 1099 preparation
- Fixed asset review
What We’re Looking For:
- Exhibit strong project management and communication skills
- Holds Extensive experience in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation
- State and Local Taxation a plus
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Licensed & Active CPA preferred.
- Estimate 5 years of tax experience in preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Experience with CCH Axcess Tax, ProSystem fx Fixed Assets, BNA Income Tax Planner, or similar tax software preferred.
The stated pay scale reflects the range that Anders reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and firm business practices.
