Job Overview

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Maintains the equipment to standard:

  • Equipment availability
  • Equipment utilization
  • Planned maintenance
  • Down time
  • Quality compliance
  • Safety standards
  • Maintenance cost per ton
  • Budget expenditure
  • Stock levels
  • Quantity of delays or disruptions to operations because of Rigger activities
  • Accurate information captured
  • Reports completed to required standard
  • Housekeeping standards

Rigger administration through the ability to:

  • Obtain daily and weekly work instructions from Engineering Foreman
  • Prepare and plan work priority list and resource requirements in order to complete tasks
  • Ensure that all resources requirements are communicated to Logistics Supervisor in order to complete allocated work orders
  • Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for area
  • Compile an accurate shift/work order reports
  • Complete and sign off the allocated work orders
  • Ensure that technical data is accurate
  • Complete requisitions for stock items required
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers
  • Complete the necessary job cards relating to the task done including and description of work and spares used
  • Participate in required meetings including safety
  • Accurately complete role administration requirements

Rigger maintenance through the ability to:

  • Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules are accurately complied with
  • Ensure that all work conducted is performed to the required standards and specifications
  • Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followed
  • Ensure that the correct tools are used to complete tasks
  • Ensure that materials and equipment are available for the shifts requirements in the area
  • Ensure the safe and proper running of all machinery and equipment are conducted - Equipment and machinery specific competence
  • Supervise allocated multi-task team member in order to complete assigned work tasks or orders
  • Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is always worn
  • Complete and sign off all allocated planned inspection orders

Teamwork through the ability to:

  • Identify opportunities to improve operations
  • Participate in improvement projects
  • Support efforts to overcome operational problems
  • Identify risks and threats to the process proactively
  • Inform the Shift supervisor when work is being conducted in the area of responsibility
  • Co-ordinate maintenance activities with the Shift supervisor, to ensure that the operation is not effected or alternative plans need to be prepared
  • Show the appropriate Shift supervisor how certain low level maintenance and preventative steps can be undertake by the operational team within process
  • Communicate any stumbling blocks to the appropriate Logistics Supervisor so that plans can be made
  • Ensure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibility
  • Communicate process problems to necessary people
  • Support logistics team members if they require help
  • Help engineering employees to maintain equipment in Department
  • Ensure effective two way communications with team members

This role is at a C2 level reporting to the Engineering Foreman
