Job Overview
- Assist plant manager develop annual budget for plant sections
- Production targets focused on controllable variables not inputs
- Ensure that plant section operates in a sustainable manner
- Maintain process recipe
- Develop and maintain site specific standards, codes of practices, systems and procedures in accordance with guidelines and the Act
- Optimize plant within recipe
- Identify key performance shortfalls and gaps, and critical improvement areas
- Manage performance of direct production staff.
- Take corrective action to daily/weekly/monthly targets achieve weekly/monthly/quarterly targets
- Ensure availability, and allocate production resources (people, materials, money) across all shifts
- Tactical plans for implementation of plant goals and objectives
- Ongoing support to achieve operational goals
- Ensure integrity of process flow sheet and technologies
- Facilitate technology transfer
- Project execution
- Ensure that shifts are adequately staffed with competent people
- Solve plant boundary problems
- Monitor and control metals flow and inventories to minimize plant lock up
- Communicates vision and values effectively and inspires others towards the same
- Plant succession plans
- Implementation of applicable Safety, Regulations, The Act, Codes of practice and standards
- Review safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports – plan of action
- Plant acceptance of new technologies
