The Snr Engineer Structural provides dedicated project management service to the operation and takes responsibility at an operational level for the planning and delivery of the Structural work on Capital.
- Safety:
- Create a safety culture through productive and authorized operational systems/processes that allow all employees (including contracting partners) to provide their outputs in a risk-controlled environment. Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Performance and Delivery
- Plan the Project
- Define the scope of the project in collaboration with Structural Engineer and Project Engineer
- Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
- Determine the resources (time, money, equipment, etc) required to complete the project
- Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
- Review the project schedule with senior management and all stakeholders that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
- Drive towards the desired installation rate cost and effectively managed outcome.
- Resource the Project
- In consultation with the appropriate Operational Engineering manager, develop strategy and plan, interview and select project resources with appropriate skills for the project activities.
- Manage project resources to deliver on agreed deliverables.
- Contract qualified consultants to work on the project as appropriately.
- Effectively manage the EPCM to deliver to their contract deliverables.
- Execute the Project
- Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance on a regular basis
- Manage all project funds according to company policy, procedure and governance
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
- Evaluate the Project
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
- Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
- Key focus on defect reduction and cost per ton and reduction thereof
