The Master Artisan Electrician supports the Foreman Electrical appointed in terms of 2.9.2 of the MHSA, Act 29 of 1996: This person shall possess advanced technical knowledge (both theory and practical) aligned to a skills matrix and development plan to maintain, install and commission the electrical components of the machinery and equipment to an agreed standard in accordance with VP operating procedures and shall provide assurance to the Electrical Foreman that all LV and MV installations comply with VP standards and specifications.
- Focus Manage and/or facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, on existing, new, and modified processes and define effective risk management controls
- Lead process safety management assessments and reviews at Valterra Platinum operation and project toll-gate reviews, detailed design reviews, and operational risk reviews (ORR) / management system reviews
- Ensure PSM improvement actions from Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), PSM compliance audits, and Tier I and 2 Process Safety Event (PSE) investigations are identified and tracked to timeous closure
- Provide expert process safety management advice to design, construction, and maintenance engineers and operating personnel.
- Support the Group development and lead the deployment of Process Safety Management training and toolkits within Anglo American Platinum for respective stakeholders
- Manage and/or assist in Tier 1 and 2 PSE investigations
- Asset Reliability, Safety and Health’s Integrated Risk Management department’s purpose is to support a step change in business performance by developing the organization’s capability to manage risks and exploit opportunities in operational and functional performance.
This role is a band 8 role and reports to the Electrical Foreman
