Operations Controller Loading

As our Operations Controller Loading your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Safety, Health, and Environment

• Ensure compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health, safety and risk management standards and best practices.
• Safely operate and control equipment/materials as instructed.
• Ensure all activities are conducted following the Minerals Act and Regulations.
• Compliance with OSHAS and MHS Acts.

Overseeing operational tasks:

• Perform safety inspections at the site and issue safety declarations.
• Operate required equipment as per Loading processes and ensure trucks are loaded according to required tempo and standards.
• Adhere to production schedules.
• Ensure electric cables and mast poles are positioned according to operational procedures.
• Enhance the utilisation of equipment for optimal efficiency.
• Promote people engagement.
• Escalate potential risks and operational challenges to the supervisor.
• Ensure adherence to design parameters.

Overseeing fleet utilisation:

• Maintain equipment in a tidy and functional state consistently.
• Maximize the productivity of equipment:
• Regular Maintenance and Inspections:
  • Ensure that equipment undergoes routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential issues before they affect productivity.
  • Optimize equipment schedules to match operational demands.
• Implement effective shift planning and minimise downtime during transitions.
• Facilitate proper shift handovers to minimise any impact on operations or production.

This role is in the Mining (MIN) department on a band 9/P4 level reporting to the Supervisor.
