Construction Civil Engineer

About the Role

The Construction Civil Engineer ensures the technical integrity and successful implementation of engineering works on-site, as per seasonal project requirements. The role involves supervising day-to-day engineering works and ensuring compliance with design, quality, and safety standards. Liaises with necessary authorities as required. This role requires travel outside Athens to oversee specific projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all civil construction activities on-site, ensuring timely and quality execution.
  • Supervise subcontractor works and renovation projects in Agios Aimilianos, adhering to daily activity schedules.
  • Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, engineers, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Support the preparation of progress reports, construction-related legal documents, and maintain all necessary technical documentation.
  • Conduct thorough on-site investigations and review technical documents including blueprints, drawings, specifications, and technical sheets.
  • Assess construction risks, ensure quality assurance for materials and methods, and enforce safety standards.
  • Prepare tender comparative analysis (materials, works) based on procurement quotes.
  • Report on cost estimations and provide updates on project budget and financial planning.
  • Ensure subcontractors deliver work on time and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory guidelines, including building permits and health & safety protocols.
  • Produce and deliver technical files and technical documentation as required.
  • Support the Group on technical issues under the Technical Advisor's guidance and instructions.
  • Perform quality inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Resolve site issues related to civil works and escalate major concerns to the Supervisor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 10–15 years of experience in construction site supervision, preferably in residential buildings, hospitality, or housing projects.
  • Proven track record in overseeing building construction, renovation, or infrastructure projects in Greece or abroad.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering standards, construction materials, and building techniques.
  • Willingness to travel outside Athens for project supervision as needed.
  • Licensed member of the Technical Chamber of Greece.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction software such as AutoCAD or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • A self-motivated, reliable, and adaptable team player with a proactive approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
