How can meters of DNA fit in a small nucleus? Which proteins fold the DNA? And how are these proteins regulated? Are you interested in these questions and do you want to dive into the nucleus of a cell? Then we are looking for you as our new Research Technician!
As a Research Technician, your interests lies in fundamental research. You will be working in the division of Cell Biology, in the group of Benjamin Rowland. The research will focus on chromosome biology, specifically on the proteins that are involved in genome organization, and on their regulation. You will become part of the team and will be responsible for a part of a research line!
What will you do?
Together with your colleagues you will design and perform experiments, and you will discuss the results. The experiments will mostly involve biochemistry or cell biology, and may include genomics-based methodologies such as Hi-C and ChIP-seq. Besides experimental tasks, you will be involved in the ordering of reagents, and in the maintenance of equipment.
