- Note: This is a 3-month contract position with the possibility of extension, based on performance and project needs.
You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 6+ years of professional experience working with Java-based platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Liferay DXP as both administrator and developer.
- Proven experience performing Liferay upgrades, deployments, and DevOps-related tasks.
- Strong fundamentals in Java, JSP, and Portlet development.
- Experience integrating Okta with Liferay, including OIDC-based authentication and user synchronization.
- Solid background in performance tuning and remediation of technical debt in enterprise portals.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
- English is a requirement, as you will be working directly with US-based clients.
- Experience working in Linux environments with Tomcat and MySQL is a plus.
- Working knowledge of REST API integrations and Spring-based services supporting Liferay is a plus.
You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Lead and support initiatives to address accumulated technical debt, including Liferay DXP upgrades and performance improvements.
- Implement and maintain identity integrations between Liferay and Okta, migrating authentication flows to OIDC standards.
- Manage DevOps processes for Liferay DXP deployments, ensuring stable and repeatable releases.
- Contribute to custom portal development as required by the business.
- Collaborate in architectural refinement and solution design for scalable, high-traffic environments.
- Apply agile practices while working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Participate in documentation efforts throughout the SDLC to ensure platform maintainability and knowledge continuity.
