About You

You are a hands-on DevOps or Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of Infrastructure as Code and building reliable, cloud-native environments on AWS. You are comfortable working with Terraform, provisioning container-based infrastructure, and ensuring platform stability through proper monitoring and observability.

You bring a proactive mindset, enjoy questioning technical decisions, and collaborate closely with distributed teams to continuously improve infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability.

  • This position is offered under a contractor model for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Terraform Cloud, including writing modules and managing provisioning workflows.
  • Proven experience provisioning and managing AWS infrastructure, primarily ECS and related container services.
  • Deep understanding of Docker and container-based architectures.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability using CloudWatch and Datadog.
  • Familiarity with compliance practices and security-driven infrastructure changes.
  • Strong English communication skills to collaborate with distributed teams and US-based stakeholders.
  • Proactive and curious mindset, comfortable reviewing and questioning technical decisions and architectures.
  • Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot (nice to have).

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

  • Write and maintain Terraform code and modules to provision and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform Cloud.
  • Review Terraform pull requests and provide feedback to ensure code quality and best practices.
  • Provision AWS services and work on proofs of concept (PoCs) to validate infrastructure solutions.
  • Apply infrastructure and configuration changes driven by Security and Compliance requirements.
  • Review and challenge architecture and implementation approaches to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in team ceremonies, including daily standups and technical discussions.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineers to ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
