Job Overview

Applaudo is building a dominant government technology practice across Latin America. The Director of Latam Public Sales will lead this charge: creating a defensible vertical through institutional relationships, compliance infrastructure, and AI-native delivery that most competitors cannot replicate.

This is a market-builder role, not a quota-chaser. You will be the architect of Applaudo’s public sector strategy across 5+ LATAM countries, reporting directly to the CEO and owning the path to public sector representing at least 25% of total company revenue. You will lead a dedicated team, shape procurement strategy, build government relationships from the ground up, and position Applaudo as the region’s premier government transformation partner.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the public sector market strategy across LATAM, establishing Applaudo as a top-3 government technology partner in 5+ countries.
  • Build a systematic pipeline with 3x+ coverage and opportunity identification 6+ months before bid release.
  • Drive bid win rates above 40% by shaping opportunities proactively, before bids are formally released.
  • Identify and recommend at least 2 qualified acquisition targets per year to the CEO.
  • Develop compliance infrastructure proactively across active and target markets, so Applaudo is ready to bid before opportunities surface
  • Maintain zero government compliance incidents and keep certifications current in all active markets.
  • Partner with Legal and the CTO to embed government security requirements and procurement law into the company’s operating model
  • Own the strategy and market requirements for reusable government technology platforms, targeting deployment across 3+ jurisdictions
  • Reduce cost per deployment on new government engagements by leveraging existing platform investments.
  • Hire, coach, and hold accountable a team of Account Executives, Bid Process Analysts, and Post Sales Executives.
  • Build a compliance-first culture: government standards are embedded proactively, never scrambled for when a bid appears
  • Deliver regular government market intelligence to the CEO, with visibility into LATAM technology spending trends and competitive positioning

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:

  • 12+ years in government technology sales, with at least 5 years leading public sector sales in LATAM markets.
  • Demonstrated track record of building a government vertical from early stage to significant revenue contribution.
  • Experience with multi-country government market entry across LATAM, including public procurement and bid management.
  • Proven bid win rates above 30%, with experience shaping opportunities pre-release.
  • Experience building compliance infrastructure for government markets: certifications, audit readiness, data sovereignty.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
