ESTIMATED PAY RANGE
$85,000 - $95,000, DOE
JOB SUMMARY
As a JOB TITLE in Faribault, MN, you will:
- Design and develop production machinery for medical device manufacturing
- Apply mechanical engineering principles to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Collaborate with software, manufacturing, and automation teams to integrate mechanical and control systems
- Ensure machinery meets medical industry standards for safety, compliance, and scalability
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and iterative design improvements
- Document designs, processes, and updates for knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners across southern Minnesota
- Contribute to projects that impact communities in Faribault, Northfield, Owatonna, Waseca, and the greater Twin Cities
- Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in machine design, automated machinery, or robotic systems
- Background in automation, robotics, or custom machine design for regulated industries (medical machine design)
- Understanding of FDA or ISO standards as they apply to manufacturing equipment
- Proficiency with CAD design tools and familiarity with automation systems, PLCs, and robotics
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex concepts clearly
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
