ESTIMATED PAY RANGE

$75,000 - $86,000, DOE

JOB SUMMARY

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Burnsville, MN, you will:

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on sheet‑metal fabrication
  • Create accurate, manufacturable designs using SolidWorks and related mechanical design tools
  • Interpret customer specifications and site requirements to develop practical mechanical solutions
  • Balance customization needs with standardized design practices to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout the design process
  • Apply strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with relevant codes and standards
  • Manage design documentation, BOMs, and revisions within ERP, PLM, and Engineering Vault systems
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners across southern Minnesota
  • Contribute to projects that impact communities in Faribault, Northfield, Owatonna, Waseca, and the greater Twin Cities
  • Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • A minimum of two years using Solidworks for 3D design
  • Product development/redevelopment experience required
  • The ability to source components and work directly with vendors
  • Machine design experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with power distribution and/or electrical equipment a plus
