About Applied Intuition
We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.
About the role
We are looking for a Pipeline Technical Artist/Technical Director to drive the development of our content pipelines and backends. At Applied, you will be responsible for a lot of the technical development inside Unreal and/or the pipelines associated with it. You will assist the pipelining and unit-testing initiatives for automatically triggering procedural content generation and importing this content into Unreal engine. . This position will join an existing team of talented engineers and technical artists with backgrounds in games, VFX, autonomous systems, and robotics.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Establish content pipelines and standards for others to follow
- Create an automated pipeline that can with one button click ingest customer data, run various systems, and create a final package to be used by the client
- Work with C++ and Python to create flexible pipelines that plug into Houdini and Unreal
- Establish flexible modular pipelines that are maintainable long term
- Enforce good Python standards
- Work with both Object Sim and Unreal to connect features where needed
- Create tools for artists to work efficiently
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of a render farm
We're looking for someone who has:
- Has 3+ years of experience with Pipeline
- Is an expert user of at least one 3D DCC tool (e.g. Maya/Houdini)
- Has a solid understanding of Python and game/film pipelines
- Can work closely with Engineers to create custom logic as required
Nice to have:
- Experience with Unreal or other real-time engines (e.g. Frostbite, Unity)
- Houdini experience
- HLSL/GLSL experience
- Experience with Machine Learning
- Computer Science/Software Engineering background
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
