Job Overview

The Physical Security Technician will be responsible for managing Fire Protection Systems, overseeing maintenance services, and supporting the implementation of new security projects. This role is essential to ensuring the safety of facilities, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assisting in the continuous improvement of physical security measures. The responsibilities of the profile will be divided into the following topics:

Fire Protection Systems (PCI) Management:

  • Monitor the installation and maintenance of PCI equipment such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, alarms, and sprinklers.
  • Ensure that all fire safety equipment is fully operational and compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and internal audits of PCI elements to ensure the maximum effectiveness of safety systems.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to ensure timely maintenance of all physical security systems.
  • Supervise the quality of service provided by contractors and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.

External Firefighting Team Management:

  • Lead and manage the internal/external firefighting team, ensuring proper coordination, availability, and operational readiness.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for firefighting team members, addressing concerns and facilitating communication with management.

External PCI Maintenance Service Management:

  • Manage and supervise external contractors responsible for regulatory PCI maintenance, ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with external service providers, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Review and approve maintenance reports, certifications, and regulatory documentation provided by contractors.
  • Ensure corrective actions from maintenance inspections are implemented promptly and effectively.
  • Track maintenance schedules and ensure all regulatory deadlines are met to maintain full compliance.

Support for New Physical Security Projects:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new physical security projects, from the design phase to final execution, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate in risk assessments to identify necessary improvements or new implementations related to physical security.
  • Work with other departments to ensure new security measures are effectively integrated into daily operations.

Regulatory Compliance and Training:

  • Ensure compliance with current regulations related to physical security and PCI, staying up to date with regulatory changes.
  • Support training activities for staff on emergency procedures and the use of PCI equipment.
  • Maintain documentation and evidence for regulatory audits and certifications.
  • Develop and update emergency response procedures and fire safety protocols.

Coordination with the primary responsible of Physical Security:

  • Coordinate with the primary responsible for physical security to provide support and ensure seamless service when necessary, such as during absences or vacations, maintaining full cooperation between both areas to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
  • Provide backup support for physical security operations, demonstrating flexibility and cross-functional capability.
  • Support in leading emergency response coordination during fire incidents.

Administrative and Documentation Management:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, maintenance activities, incidents, KPIs and training sessions.
  • Ensure proper documentation flow between internal departments and external service providers.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to service contracts, warranties, costs and compliance certificates.
